My Google Plus Business Page is Green!

Having a winning banner day today.

Don't know much, i.e. not a geek and technologically challenged.

Do know that Google has always supplied these wonderful webmaster tools and when the social network was set up, they offer the Plus Your Business resources, etc., to help the user become successful. But they don't put you in a high chair and feed you baby food. OK! Some stuff you have to learn on your own. Nevertheless, you have no excuse because they gave you the tools. You need to apply your talents!

My talents or tech skills level is on a learn as you go basis. Never been formally trained or educated in harnessing the Internet, HTML coding and so on.

Getting to the point of this post.

TODAY is a banner day. Why? Because … IT'S ALL GREEN!

Green is good! Way better than red.

Any non-geek can understand that.

Don't want to to bore you with the sad story but my first home business Google Plus page was suspended. Asked for review but didn't wait for it. Thought to myself:

'Hmmm? Suspended? (O.o) Uuuhh? That's not the same as BANNED or BANISHED! Right?'

Kind of like having the same attitude as the librarian character played by Rachel Weisz in the 2001 movie, “The Mummy Returns”.

  • Script: “ … drink from The Nile. Oh! That doesn't sound too bad.” (Uh oh! YIKES!!)

The Mummy
So my rationale was:

  • A suspended G+ page is like “drinking from The Nile”.

VERSUS

  • Being banned or banished from Google Plus altogether is like facing off with the Scorpion king.

Decided the suspension wasn't all that bad.

Scrapped the suspended business page and started over.

The screen shot below is of my replacement page, Home Business Works G+. Each time my page is opened the stats appear to let me know if the public is receiving it well or totally ignoring it.

Well today … the stats for the last 30 days are ALL GREEN!!

Woo Hoo!!

Had to make a screen shot of it!

Looking forward to 2016.

Republishing Previously Published Content

Information for those who used to contribute to YAHOO Voices before that network was shut down. What many of us liked about the YCN (YAHOO Contributor Network) was that it accepted “previously published articles”. What was really great was that payment was actually received for articles that had been sitting at another site for well over a year with almost nothing to show for it! (That's my experience. Can't speak for others.)

Premium Bamboo Laptop Lap Desk of Extra Large Size. 100% Natural Bamboo Lapdesk Surface with Cushion and Handle. Can Be Used As a Mobile Desk, Bed Tray, Book and Writing Table.

When YCN closed its doors, never bothered looking for other sites that were similar. Haven't decided whether or not try again, but in case anybody else might be looking, here is a link of interest.

Native American Contemporary Artist: Tony Abeyta

Tony Abeyta
Native American Painter; Born 1965

Original paintings are in public art galleries worldwide and American museums, such as the National Museum of the American Indian, Washington D.C./New York City.

Tony Abeyta is of Navajo and Anglo-American descent, the son of the late Navajo painter Ha-So-De (Narciso Abeyta). He was raised in Gallup, New Mexico, a small town surrounded by the Zuni (Pueblo Native Americans) and Navajo reservation. Pursuing his educational aspirations provided him an opportunity to travel. He has studied at art institutions in Baltimore, Chicago, Maine, New York, France and Italy. Though much of his work is rooted in a complex Navajo culture, it also displays elements of a progressive cultural experience.

"I try to diversify as an artist and there are certainly many directions I take as a painter." - Tony Abeyta

"Tony creates a powerful range of contemporary and traditional paintings. He explores different mediums such as oil and monotype creating a variety of pieces including charcoal drawings, large scale oil and sand paintings, and abstract mixed media pieces incorporating encaustic wax, copper and printmaking. Please browse through his collections of recent works, contemporary art, traditional art, and prints."  Official Website

Tony Abeyta is accepted as one of the finest young contemporary painters today, as well as one of the most innovative Native American artists of his generation. I. For further biographical information, click on the link to above to his official website or the links supplied below:

Native American Contemporary Artist: Dan Namingha

Dan Namingha
Native American Painter/Sculptor; Born 1950 -

To work around the traditional art system, i.e. non-recognition of Native American artists, Namingha opened his own gallery. Niman Fine Art is a family-owned and operated gallery representing the works of internationally known artist Dan Namingha and other Namingha family members. His original works are also available at art galleries worldwide; for example, Artnet Galleries.

From the Tewa-Hopi tribe, Dan Namingha was born on the Hopi reservation in Keams Canyon, Arizona. In 2009, Dan Namingha received an Honorary Doctorate from the Institute of American Indian Arts. Like most artists, from very young (2nd grade) his artistic abilities provided him an avenue of creative expression. His work shows the influence of his Hopi background but his sculptures also incorporate cubism. Links to additional bio notes:

"I see myself as a kind of bridge between worlds, trying to find that center line of balance." - Dan Namingha

Native American Contemporary Artist: Kevin Red Star

November is Native American Heritage Month in the United States of America.

3-part blog post. Spotlight on three Native American artists of Crow, Hopi and Navajo descent, who share the art resulting from their culture and traditions with the world.

"What started at the turn of the century as an effort to gain a day of recognition for the significant contributions the first Americans made to the establishment and growth of the U.S., has resulted in a whole month being designated for that purpose." - Quote Source: Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Department of the Interior

In 1990, President George H. W. Bush approved a joint resolution which designated November as "National American Indian Heritage Month". Below are profiles of three Native American artists whose persistent and diligent efforts have introduced the contemporary art of descendants of the first Americans to an international audience.

Kevin Red Star
Native American Painter; Born 1943 -

Crow Husband and Wife

Kevin Red Star is a celebrated artist who is internationally known. He was born on the Crow Indian Reservation in Lodge Grass, Montana. He is the recipient of 2 Honorary Doctorate degrees. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Fine Art from the Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana in 1997; and an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2010.

"Indian culture has in the past been ignored to a great extent." -- Kevin Red Star

Well thanks to his efforts and that of many others who support the preservation of our Native American history, culture and heritage, it will be ignored no longer. Red Star's work can be found in numerous important museum collections, including but not limited to The Smithsonian Institution - National Museum of the American Indian.

Blogjob.com - Can First Impressions Be Trusted?

Don't know if you will trust my judgment on this but my first impression of Blogjob.com is: “Oh yeah! I can work like this!”

Blog Cloud clip art

Some of the features that make me want to use this site:
  • Free blogging platform (uses Wordpress)
  • Reward and Points system (earn rewards or points then redeem for cash or other) ~ Cash incentives program discontinued.
  • Google Ads allowed (revenue-sharing 25%; 1 out of 4 times your ads show, and three times, ads belonging to the site owners show.  It's fair!  They bear the expense of maintaining the site.)
  • Affiliate referrals and advertisements allowed.  No revenue share.  What you earn from affiliate marketing is 100% yours.
  • Zemanta plugin works (can pull in related content from around the web)*
  • Learn a lot of tips and tricks via forum discussions
  • Nice management or staff support and nice community of members

* Zemanta TIP:  When you selected Related Articles to share, check the link and make sure the post still exists.  Sometimes the database does not update and posts that appear with thumbnails, are no longer pubished.  Important blogging tip!  Posts you share should enhance your content and not contaminate it with links to nowhere!

Have only been there for about a month, but the experience has been positive.  The blog I created at this site is called:  Cmoneyspinner Keeps on Blogging.  (Hope you subscribe.)

myLot.com - Can First Impressions Be Trusted?

Active member of various online writing communities and at the urging of a couple of fellow bloggers, decided to sign up with myLot.com which is YASM, yet another social network. It is a combination of things but in a nutshell, it's a huge discussion forum that welcomes everybody to participate. FREE to sign up. Start immediately.

This site was "rebooted".  Started in 2006; had been popular at one time, lost the momentum, revamped and now as of 2015, the owners are revved up and forging ahead full speed.

Very impressed with my experience thus far. In fact, have already published one review (see * below); and this blog post is more or less a review / progress report.

At myLot, you don't get paid for writing posts. Rather you are encouraged to generate discussions. When you write up a quick post or a lengthy article (there are no requirements on character counts, word count, etc.), the more feedback that's generated, the more likely you are to earn money.  The payout is $10 and you must have a PayPal account.

Within less than a week, 15 discussions (see list below) have been started by me.  People are leaving responses or comments at most of them, and the interest being expressed in my topics is encouraging.  Hoping to make more friends.  The members seem to be enthusiastic.  The earnings potential is definitely there.

July 30th is National Cheesecake Day in the USA

Who Cares Who Invented Cheesecake? I do!

Because I want to thank whoever it was that made this lusciously exquisite dessert possible for human consumption!! :)
According to Cheesecake.com, "The first "cheese cake" may have been created on the Greek island of Samos. Physical anthropologists excavated cheese molds there which were dated circa 2,000 B.C." I would just like to modify/paraphrase a quote borrowed from a memorable character as stated in a famous Charles Dickens' novel: "God bless them, each and every one!" :)
I very much agree with Anita Schecter, the lady who shared this recipe via Google Plus. Skip dinner! Go straight to the dessert! Many thanks to her also! :)

Bollywood Actress Priyanka Chopra to Play Lead Role in 'Quantico'

"Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra is ready to take over America."

Quantico TV series

Welcome Ms. Chopra! What took you so long?? Never mind. You're here now. So!  You're going to play the role of an FBI Agent in the TV series "Quantico"? That was an excellent casting choice considering how well you acted in both of the "Don" Hindi films with Shah Rukh Khan. You will also star with him in "Don 3"?  Can't say you don't stay busy.  :)  Viewed the official trailer for "Quantico".  Looks intense. A frame up? Well that sucks!! Why do the true and loyal patriots always have to be the ones who get set up? Oh well! Let's just hope the plot holds up, and the main storyline doesn't get buried in a horribly written script. Best wishes for your success Ms. Chopra.

Save The Bahamas!

Have a personal interest in The Bahamas and have always adored Sean Connery. So when I discover any information that includes them both in the same sentence, have to know more!! Old news? Yes! This article is dated July 2014.

Sean Connery joins Bahamas campaign to stop billionaire developing mansion - theguardian.com

BTW, I love the British newspaper The Guardian . Very glad that it's online and just noticed this publication won the Pulitzer Prize for 2014 for distinguished journalism. Bravo! [ as Clint Eastwood would say :) ] Also, just started following their Google+ business page . The page only has about 5 million followers. They could use another one. :)

But getting back to the article. It's some brew ha ha about an environmental matter and there were allegations about "special treatment" being given by government officials, and Mr. Connery wanted to lend his support, etc., etc.

Forget the article. Read the comments!

Country Music: Spotlight on Angel Taylor

Love country music. The songs have real words. Real words you can relate to! My first ever published article that appeared on the Internet with my name was a memorable moment. It was about a lovely young lady who at that time was deemed to be a rising star. How far she has risen as of today? Don't know. Have not had time to keep up with her career. But here I go again singing the same song I sang about her the first time I wrote about her.

* ( NOTE:  Link to archived content.)

She's a singer/songwriter and her name is Angel Mae Taylor. Sharing a link to the the video that won me over. Every time I make mention of her as a country music singer, people want to correct me.

I don't need to be CORRECTED!

Little Ms. Taylor needs to be DIRECTED.

The girl has talent! A mentor needs to take her by the hand and lead her down the path of country music. She need somebody like that guy Clive Davis was to the late Whitney Houston.

Accidental Google Leads to Gold Mine

Signed up to participate in a social network because ... just looking for another place to share stuff besides the well-known and over-used social media networks where all the same people seem to be. In other words, hoping to find a different audience to promote and share my writings, blogs and websites.

Anyway ... at this network, wrote a comment about one of the member's uploaded image - movie art or poster for a gangsta movie (not sure) - and copied it into the Comments box. Some other thought came to my mind while perusing the posts stream. Did not realize my remarks were still in the clipboard and wanted to search for something else via Google. The words in my clipboard were accidentally copied into the search engine box ... hit the search button and POP! Before I knew it, a string of search results.

Below are my accidental Google statements and a few of the results.

Seriously bad bad men in real life. These guys did a great job acting like bad guys.”

Sampling of SEARCH RESULTS:

WOW! The other links are just garbage to me. But that Classic Images website is a Gold Mine!! (UPDATE:  Oct 2021 - It figures!  The site no longer exist.)

Love old movies and reading about the actors and actresses from back "when the lion roared". :)
