My Worry-Free Philosophy (Humor and Serious Truth)

“Revenge it's a kiss, this time I won't miss, now I've got you in my sight.”

( Lyrics from GoldenEye - http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/tinaturner/goldeneye.html )

I love me some Tina Turner. Her being picked to sing a James Bond theme song? So worthy to be chosen to become a member of the same club as Dame Shirley Bassey. She performed this song well, but alas … Revenge is not a part of my worry-free philosophy.

The advice in the image above (found at glitter-graphics.com) says: “Never go to bed angry. Stay up and plot your revenge.”

Eh! That's great for a joke! But not a route one should take in real life.

Never go to bed angry. Anger is an emotion that you can fully control. CONTROL IT!! Anger, more often than not, makes you do things you regret for a long long long time.

Say what? Jesus got angry with the money changers in the temple? Yeah well, you're still trying to get to heaven. Don't screw up your chances! Jesus is already there! He can lock the gates!! ☺

Also, don't give me that crap about anger management or you'll make me angry!!

Stay up and ... Stay up? WHAT???!!! I get precious little sleep as it is!! You want me to choose between beauty rest versus wrinkles, extra gray hair, and bloodshot eyes? What are my other options?

Plot my revenge? Plotting is needed when writing a book or a script for a movie. If I have that kind of time to spare and can spend it on plotting, might as well write a book. Why not? I'm wide awake anyway!! You never know. Could be another Harry Potter series.

So the bottom line is:
Revenge is _______________. In my life, it's a blank and I'm never going to fill it in.

What is a Universal Language of Light?

Sharing a link to an article written by a fellow freelance writer

What is a Universal Language of Light?

  • Quote extracted from the article: “Modern research confirms the most ancient form of Hebrew to be a natural language; the alphabetic forms emerging from the phosphate flare patterns of the brain.”

(NOTE:  Link to an archived copy.  The article was unpublished.)
This is my first time learning, hearing or reading about a “Universal Language of Light”. The research results do make you wonder. However, I am convinced that God invented all human languages because I believe the biblical account of the tower of Babel. If Genesis 11 is true, then any human language is a “language of The Light”.

  • The article also contains an interesting question: “Is DNA the next Internet?”
It seems that Russian scientists have made some claims. Next? I’m not trying to split hairs or “strain at a gnat and swallow a camel”, but DNA was here first! Just sayin’. This article is fascinating!!

What is a Universal Language of Light?

Some call it the Language of Consciousness or the living language of light. Many people worldwide are now re-discovering this ancient Language that lies at the heart of so many spiritual traditions. Modern research confirms the most ancient form of Hebrew to be a natural language; the alphabetic forms emerging from the phosphate flare patterns of the brain.

10 Hackers Who Drastically Changed the World (Reblog)

#1 is Julian Assange ... #10 is Anonymous

"Yes, literally. While hacking is as amoral as science or mathematics, and therefore couldn't possibly be morally wrong, it is indeed literally wrong. Hacking, in the broadest sense of the word, is to attempt to interact with a system (any system) in a clever, innovative, and challenging way that the system was not intended to be interacted with, or the wrong way."

Asian-American Legend ~ Bruce Lee (Nov 27, 1940 – July 20, 1973)

God bless the Internet and especially social networks, bloggers, and online writing communities. So there’s this really cool guy – Nathan Bernardo, aka NateB11 – and he is a loyal and devoted martial arts disciple. He knows a lot about MA and writes articles on the topic. Of course, in America, we know that the reason we know about kung fu, karate, and all that stuff is because the one and only Bruce Lee told US it exists and proved it by teaching US how it’s done!

Bruce Lee departed this world in 1973 leaving behind a legion of adoring fans, some of whom would give birth to future admirers.  Legion!  Some of his fans – like my kids – hadn’t even been born yet!!  To this day, whenever information is published about this legendary martial artist, people just can’t resist taking a peek, to see if it reveals anything more about Mr. Lee that we did not know.

Check out this HUB by NateB311.

If you have ever seen the popular film “Enter the Dragon” starring Bruce Lee, then you probably remember the scene where the old British gentleman meets with Mr. Lee in a garden to discuss recruiting him for a mission to catch a bad guy.  Did you know that the design of the garden where they had the meeting was based on principles of feng shui?

3 Famous Ghost Ships and Their Interesting Stories

The most famous ghost ship is the Flying Dutchman, which I knew nothing about other than the fact there was a vessel by that name and there was a movie made about it, set sail in 1680 and the first time it was spotted was about 200 years later and various more sightings ever since. Sounds believable!

HUBPages Contributor Teresa Coppens tells the stories behind The Flying Dutchman and three other ships: the Mary Celeste, the Octavius, and the Caleuche.

Famous Ghost Ships

- According to legend, the Mary Celeste was found abandoned, the crew disappeared and the only trace they left behind was their last meal. An unexplained mystery to this very day. But there is no shortage of theories.

- The Octavius left London in 1761 with the goal of transporting cargo to China. The intended destination was reached but on the return voyage, the ship got stuck in the Arctic ice because the captain thought he could take a shortcut to get back to England. Discovered thirteen years later. Guess where the vessel AND the entire crew were found?

- The story of the Caleuche is a legend in Chilota mythology. There are water spirits (with cute names: Sirena Chilota, Pincoya and Picoy), a ship with a mind of its own, lost shipwrecked souls brought back to life to party with music and laughter, kidnapped fishermen who have to serve the happy people, warlocks, and sorcerers allowed to come on board but not permitted to mess with the partying passengers. The people of southern Chile may truly believe it, but unbelievers like me would say the tales are loaded with the stuff of Halloween.

Famous Ghost Ships

Ghost ships bring to mind vessels materializing from a fog shrouded ocean. These ships represent a number of mysterious possibilites: manifestation of a tragedy that befell the crew of a long ago vessel; vessels found floating without crew, all hands on board missing and a mysterious tale begging to explain the tragedy.

I am also a HUBPages Contributor using the pen name "cmoneyspinner1tf". My HUB tells the stories of lost ships.  Not ghost ships.  These vessels were lost but then found.

American Presidents | Representing The Whigs

The Whig was a U.S. Political party that was in existence from 1834 to 1856. Four of the active and influential members of the party served as the President of the United States.

No More Whigs

The Whig was a U.S. Political party that was in existence from 1834 to 1856. It was formed in opposition to the Democratic party. They favored higher tariffs and a liberal interpretation of the Constitution. The members eventually united with the Republicans and their party, as we know of it in history, was no more.

- William Henry Harrison (1841) -
We will never of he would have served our country well because he died one month after taking office of pneumonia.

- John Tyler (1841 – 1845) -
Tyler opened up trade with China and signed bills admitting Florida and Texas to the Union.

- Zachary Taylor (1849 – 1850) -
Respected as a war hero. “Old Rough and Ready” was his nickname. Before he could implement his policies concerning the exclusion of slavery from newly acquired lands, he died.

- Millard Fillmore (1850 – 1853) -
Fillmore delayed the debate over slavery by agreeing to The Compromise of 1850 which gave each newly acquired territory the “liberty” to decide, on their own, whether they would be a slave-state or a free-state. We of course know that the final decision was settled by the American Civil War.

Presidents’ Day is celebrated every third Monday in February in the USA. Almost everyone knows all about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Just sharing a few tidbits about some of our less talked-about American presidents.

Content above first appeared at TreasurePen.com, Feb 13 2014.

U.S. History Timeline: From Washington to Tyler

Jackson and Monroe were not the only ones who made time for romance. All of the others had romantic involvements that resulted in marriages. The first names of the First Ladies from Washington to Tyler are as follows (with husband's initals and the wedding date): Martha (G.W. - January 6, 1759); Abigail (J.A.

U.S. History Timeline: After Lincoln, Before Coolidge

by cmoneyspinner The Republican party was formed in 1854 by antislavery groups. Members of the Whigs, Free-Soilers and Know-Nothing parties merged their ideals of freedom with others in this new party that opposed slavery.

Presidents Who Served First as Vice-Presidents

What do American Presidents John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Van Buren, John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, Chester A. Arthur, Theodore Roosevelt, and Calvin Coolidge all have in common with each other? Two things. These nine men served as Vice-Presidents before becoming Presidents; and they are no longer with US.

My Best of Halloween Posts on G+ - Superstitions

"Another Halloween superstition occurred at midnight. That was the time when boys and girls went into the garden blindfolded and each pulled a cabbage (some claimed it was kale runts). Supposedly, the form of the cabbage head and its stalk denoted the physical peculiarities of the person’s future husband or wife. There was also a belief that if the roots tasted sweet or sour, it reflected the future spouse’s temperament."

Fun fact about holiday traditions during the 19th century gleaned from a link shared via Google Plus by Geri Walton.

Glad she shared.  Also glad it's not true!  ☺

Not related but of significant note, Ms. Walton is the author of "Marie Antoinette’s Confidante: The Rise and Fall of the Princesse de Lamballe". Just an FYI.
