From Africa to Alabama? That's Quite a Trip! | DYNAMIC AFRICA (Reblog)

Totally cool and interesting. Worth a reblog or share. 250 million years ago? You don't say!!

#EarthDay: Geoscientists have identified a chunk of Africa stuck onto the southeastern United States.

A long mysterious zone of unusual magnetism that stretches from Alabama through Georgia and offshore to the North Carolina coast appears to be the suture between ancient rocks that formed when parts of Africa and North America were pressed together 250 million years ago. ...

Update to My First Blog Post at My Blog Stop!

Three years ago during the first week of the month of April 2014, I was just starting up this blog.

Don't laugh at me, laugh with me. 🤣

If you view my post ~ MyFirst Blog Post at My Blog Stop! Welcome! ~ you will see that out of all of my attempts at publishing blogs, only one blog is still standing as of 2017. Yep yep. All of my Tumblr microblogs took a tumble and went by the wayside. 😞

If at first you don't succeed … cry cry cry … and then try try tryagain!!

Created a brand new Tumblr account and started up two microblogs: FoxNet2017 and FoodWays2017. Sharing two sample posts below.

Created a foodie blog using Blogspot to complement/supplement my affiliate marketing website:

Kept my membership with the Blogjob (BJ) community and continued to share advice for newbie bloggers via My Pain, Your Gain.

Since the BJ community allows more than one blog, created a second blog for affiliate marketing purposes and called it My Shopping Channel.

Still maintaining my Google Plus business page (or brand account), "Home Business Works"; and Google granted me a custom URL for the page (in place of the numerical ID).

That's the update!

Work at Home ~ Home Biz Projects : Another Weekend! - UPDATE #1

This time last year, it was another weekend and in this post - WAH! On Top of WAH! Another Weekend! - I provided a status report on my various work at home projects. At that point, I had created several potential residual income streams ( or at least I thought I had). 😉  Quote from the previous post:

"TsÅ« , myLot , my blogs at - Tumblr, BlogJob and Blogger (or Blogspot ), and online writing communities like  DailyTwoCents , HUBPages , Wizzley, etc."

♦ ♦ ♦  UPDATES:

  • TsÅ« went belly up!  I'm a tad bit upset because I had written reviews of some movies and TV shows.  Plan to republish the content elsewhere.  Already republished one of the posts at.  Check it out!  Review:  Mary Kom (2014) ~ Fans of Priyanka Chopra.

  • myLot is working out and has actually paid me several times.  This is my most recent discussion.  You don't earn based on starting discussions.  You get paid for interacting with members.  But sometimes to do that you have to start a conversation.

But Suppose We're Not GREAT Again? / myLot

But Suppose We're Not GREAT Again? / myLot

So what happens if Mr. T doesn't make good on his promise to make America great again? (Scoff!) First of all, how dare you even entertain such a thought? But! ... Since you're thinking on it ... (Sigh.) We make plans. We break promises. In this life, one should always have Plan A and Plan B.

  • My blogs at - Tumblr?  Long story short.  My account got deleted.  The old blogs were sent to the Tumblr graveyard.  The company is being acquired by a new owner.  The management and staff is experimenting with placing ads in the blogs, intending to keep the platform free for the users.  Meanwhile, I created two new Tumblr blogs at the end of 2016.  FoxNet2017 and FoodWays2017.  Why?  Because they let me do it!  Plus!  Tumblr is a neat blogging/micro-blogging platform and you are allowed to place affiliate ads to monetize your blog.  Just check their "Help" in the dashboard for more details.  Why wouldn't I want to try again?

  • BlogJob stopped their Points Program but I was undaunted.  Not only did I keep my blog - My Pain, Your Gain - up and running; but I started a new blog for affiliate marketing purposes:  My Shopping Channel.  The site owners are OK with members using affiliate referral links.  Currently the site owners are experimenting with Google Ads, in the hopes of generating more revenue.  Hope these experiments are successful.  The platform is good to use but whereas, it used to be a social community where you could sign in and not only go about your blogging business but interact and chat with fellow bloggers, the "socializing" aspect went Bye Bye when the Points Program ended.

  • Blogger (or Blogspot)?  In addition to this blog, at the end of 2016, I set up a foodie blog called Food Ways Presented by Everyday Exotic Spices.  A friend of mine and fellow food blogger visited and gave me lots of advice, tips and feedback on how to make the blog look more visually appealing.  It looks pretty to me!  Also, I am able to use Amazon Native Ads on Blogspot blogs.  No surprise.  If you can remember way back, the Blogspot platform used to have a feature that allowed the blogger to incorporate relevant links to Amazon products.

As for the online writing communities?  My aim was to publish evergreen content (content that is relevant and not restricted to a specific period of time) so that I could set it, forget it, and appreciate whatever residual income is generated by the pages.  I revisit from time to time to check for broken links and update any info that may have changed.  Here are links to my writer profile at the various sites:  Daily Two Cents; Writedge; HUBPages; Wizzley; and Webnuggetz.  Most of my revenue is earned via the Google Ad Sense revenue-share plan.  Commissions are also being earned from sales of affiliate products.  ("Slow but steady wins the race."  😀)

During the year (2016), signed up at two new sites.  One is a blogging community:  Literacy Base.  This site is good because you earn for blogging, for commenting at blogs, for participating in groups and forums, for updating your profile timeline.  You even earn for just logging in to your account.  Have received payment.  This is my most recent post:

The other site, Niume, is a collaborative blogging platform created to help you promote your blog.  In other words, republished content from your blog is accepted.  It's also a good place to share your original content.  Examples:
You can not use affiliate links and your earn revenue for referrals and for views.  Learn more:  How Does Niume Revenue Work.

  • My referral link if you sign up through me:  Join Niume! Where it says "Create a Post", click on it and the sign up form will pop up.  You must use a valid eMail address.

Closing off this update with another reminder from another previous post.  Remember that Pinterest can also be used as a blogging/micro-blogging platform and affiliate links are allowed.

If you want to earn extra income, hope you find this information useful.

Legends, Myths, Fables, Folklore, Culture on Pinterest

My Pinterest account is a business account, thanks to the graciousness of the company owners. It also includes collections that are not business-related. The boards had been created when the account was a personal account and even though I converted to a business account, I kept the my pinboards.

One of my favorite personal collections is Legends, Myths,Fables, Folklore, Culture.

"Pegasus is one of the best known creatures in Greek mythology. He is a winged divine stallion also known as a horse usually depicted as pure white in color. He was sired by Poseidon, in his role as horse-god, and foaled by the Gorgon Medusa." Wikipedia

If you have some free time, you really should visit and peruse my pins. My collection includes what the usual that Westerners have come to expect when you say the word “mythology”, i.e. winged horses, unicorns and Greco-Roman gods and goddesses.

But there are also pins for anything and everything from Poliahu, the Hawaiian snow goddess TO A List of Poisonous Plants and Herbs and Their Lore.

Collected some information about nymphs.  Publishing the post here and will share it via Pinterest.  Enjoy!

(P.S.  I'm also expanding my collection to Tumblr.  See my first reblogged post below.)

The Seven Kings of Rome

The Seven Kings of Rome

There was once a group of villages on seven hills which grew into an empire. But how did it happen? During the reign of Emperor Augustus, the historian Livy (Titus Livius) gathered myths, legends, folklore (possibly adding in facts and information that could be verified or authenticated by others) and wrote down the story of how the Roman Empire came to be.

Photos on Friday: Peak Cherry Blossoms at the Tidal Basin (Reblog)

Used to work in our nation's capital, Washington, D.C. And one of my best memories were when the cherry blossoms bloomed. One of my Facebook pals invited me to contribute to one of her group boards on Pinterest and when I visited her profile to see what else she was pinning, found the link to her main blog which highlights “Things to See and Do in the Washington, D.C.Metro Area”. Yep. It's springtime in D.C., so you can guess what some of her blog posts were about. Cherry Blossoms! YAY! My pal is also a very good photographer.  Combining tidbits from her blog with info from my various blogs.  Hope you enjoy this post!

  • History of the National Cherry Blossom Festival: The event is one that offers a tribute to the commemoration of 3,000 cherry trees gifted to the US from Japan's Mayor Yukio Ozaki in 1912. This exquisite gift offered just after the turn of the 20th century was given as a way to honor the ongoing friendship between the US and Japan. Blogging Tip : Mix and Burn

Used to write for a website called Squidoo. One of the fews sites where my online income earned was consistent. Seth Godin, the site owner decided to move on to other business adventures and the site was acquired by HUBPages, which is another excellent site for freelance writers, bloggers, work at home moms, and anybody else who wants to be a part of an online writing community and earn residual income.

Make a long story short. Squidoo used to have widgets provided to the users to enable them to enhance their content with additional material. One of my favorite widgets was the “RSS Mashup”. You could take several feeds, combine them and create one feed. Loved it!

HUBPages, for whatever reason, chose to discontinue allowing RSS feeds. So even though Squidoo is now under the HP umbrella, those nifty widgets evidently were not included in the acquisition deal.
Been searching for something similar and … Behold! Seek and Ye Shall Find!

Funny thing is a while back had tested this tool and then forgot about it. But since me and my bookmarks are BFFs (best friends forever), found my old “test mix”. The light bulbs in my brain started going off!

BLOGGING TIP:
Harness the power of two RSS tools:
  • RSS Mix ( rssmix.com ) and
  • Google Feedburner ( feedburner.google.com )

Step 1: Create the “RSS Mix” ( rssmix.com ). Gather the URLS for the feeds you want to combine together. In my example, it's all of my Tumblr blogs. Just go to the site and follow the extremely simple directions. Put the feed URLs in the box and click Create. No kidding. That's it!

Step 2: Use the URL of the mix feed that is generated and then burn a feed using the Google Feedburner ( feedburner.google.com ). If you have a Google account you have access to this tool. You may have never used it because you didn't know about it. But now you do, so … go for it! For those familiar with this tool, you know that once the feed is burned, there are many different ways to optimize / publicize the content. You choose what to do with it.

Tumblr and Google Plus, Ink!

Tumblr is a blogging platform and social sharing site that is very easy to use.

Google Plus is a social network that is taking some getting used to but once you get the knack it can be lots of fun.

Tumblr knows that Google Plus communities have great potential so there is a Tumblr G+ community. This is an indirect route that is being taken to introduce others to an artist based in the Ukraine named Igor Amazonenco. He does ink portraits and his artwork is amazing!

Earn Money For Publishing Short Posts

This site shut down August 21, 2018.

Daily Two Cents is an online writing community very different from the others.  It’s pay-per-view, includes social networking, and allows the writer or contributor to earn 100% on their affiliate referral links.  That’s right!  NO REVENUE SHARING!!  You keep what you earn!

Can you write short posts - approximately 100 words - about a topic?  Doesn't have to be facts.  Opinions are accepted.  To date I have published 50+ posts.  View examples.  Links to ten (10) of my posts are provided below.

Relive poignant, defining or memorable moments of 2014 via Twitter and Tumblr

For me 2014 has been a fabulous year.  Received and eMail today to Relive poignant, defining or memorable moments of 2014 via Twitter. Selected these two moments and specific tweets IN MEMORY OF people I admired and appreciated who left us this year. Searched Tumblr to see if there were any artistic expressions which captured their light, their personality, their life!  What an inspiration!

First Public Share Via My Google Plus Business Page

First post via my Google Plus business page for Cmoneyspinner's Home Business Projects.

  • Link to post shared Jun 14, 2012.

The post about Angel Mae Taylor has sentimental value for me. The first article published online that actually showed my name as the author was written about her. It's one of those "firsts" memories.  Kind of like putting your first dollar you earned from your own business in a picture frame.  Although if you're striving to eek out a living by way of the Internet like me, it's a lot more like laminating your first penny!  :)  C'est la vie!

NOTE:  AUGUST 2015, GOOGLE PLUS SUSPENDED MY BUSINESS PAGE.  REVIEW WAS REQUESTED.  FINAL DECISION (???)

Created another business page.  Hoping to get it right this time!  :)
