Some of my fellow bloggers have a passion to write about their wanderlust. Reblogging this list provided by Erica Verrillo, publisher of Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity.
Idea? 💡
Perhaps you can turn some of your
memorable travel photographs into works of art and resell them as
art. It's a thought.
While most literary journals generally offer modest compensation (if any), there are some magazines that pay generous professional rates. Many of these specialize in niche markets, which means they have a loyal readership. If you happen to have the expertise or a background that would appeal to their audiences, these magazines will be happy to read your pitch.
Three years ago during the first week
of the month of April 2014, I was just starting up this blog.
Don't laugh
at me, laugh with me. 🤣
If you view my post ~ MyFirst Blog Post at My Blog Stop! Welcome! ~ you will see that
out of all of my attempts at publishing blogs, only one blog is still
standing as of 2017. Yep yep. All of my Tumblr microblogs took a tumble and went by
the wayside. 😞
If at first you don't succeed … cry
cry cry … and then try try try … again!!
♦
Created a brand new Tumblr account and
started up two microblogs: FoxNet2017 and FoodWays2017. Sharing two
sample posts below.
♦ Kept my membership with the Blogjob
(BJ) community and continued to share advice for newbie bloggers via
My Pain, Your Gain.
Since the BJ community allows more than
one blog, created a second blog for affiliate marketing purposes and
called it My Shopping Channel.
♦ Still maintaining my Google Plus
business page (or brand account), "Home Business Works"; and Google granted
me a custom URL for the page (in place of the numerical ID).
Earn passive income. Wizzley is an
online writing community where several of my articles have been
published on a wide range of topics. The community is friendly, the
support is fabulous and many freelance writers and people who work at
home will like the relaxed work at your own pace environment. Some
parties have taken the extra step to write a public review. Some are
happy. Some are not. My plus?
Wizzley is a great place to park your evergreen content and let it generate residual income from Google AdSense.
Paper.li is a tool that helps you publish your own online newspaper. How cool is that? You can create and publish your very own "Daily Planet " with news items of interest to you that might be of interest to other readers also.
Information for those who used to contribute to YAHOO Voices before that network was shut down. What many of us liked about the YCN (YAHOO Contributor Network) was that it accepted "previously published articles". What was really great was that payment was actually received for articles that had been sitting at another site for well over a year with almost nothing to show for it!
Daily Two Cents (dailytwocents.com ) is an online writing community very different from the others. It's pay-per-view, includes social networking, and allows the writer or contributor to earn 100% on their affiliate referral links. That's right! NO REVENUE SHARING!! You keep what you earn!
A look back. Revisiting sites where I found valuable information when I first started my blogging adventures. It is good to know this site still has online content available to the public. Left a comment at this post in 2013. It's 3 years later and the "Don'ts" in this post are still relevant. Interested in becoming a successful blogger? In
that post, I also explained that after joining a blogging community,
BlogJob.com and being allowed to create a blog there, there was the
task of giving the blog a name and a tagline. The blog is not yet a
year old and it has become necessary to make an executive decision.
Decided that the
blog name and tagline needed to be changed. It wasn't difficult to
do since the blog URL remains the same no matter how many times the
name changes.
Also
needed to add an icon. Icon or favicons are an integral part of a
website or blog's online identity.
Took
care of the easiest task first. Went into the theme customizer and
added an icon. Finally decided on the flag of Texas in the shape of
the state of Texas as my icon. Since my plans are for Austin, Texas
to be our final stop. Our family has relocated more than once. But
I'm tired of moving.
Next task.
Changed the name and tagline for my site to something more
“generic”.
WAH! WAH!! No. That's not my imitation of a crying baby. :) For the past couple of months my major
work-at-home (WAH) project has been republishing content and updating
links at my various blogs, especially incorrect affiliate links that
redirect clickers elsewhere! Then on January 30, 2016, PersonaPaper (my favorite social blogging community) announced they will no longer be accepting members and plan to shut down. Tried to back up my posts and this is now another "To Do" project: Find PP Content New Home.
"An online entrepreneur's work is never done." Wonder who said that. (???) Oh! Yeah! It was me!
Have created several potential residual income streams – TsÅ«, myLot , my blogs at - Tumblr, BlogJob and Blogger (or Blogspot ), and online writing communities like DailyTwoCents , HUBPages , Wizzley, etc.
Creating them is one thing.
Keeping up with them is another.
It's clear to me that my “To Do List”
should be more organized, in order for me to accomplish more. So that's
my project to help me with my home business projects. Create an
organized achievable prioritized list of "I Will DO ALL of This!" items. Great! Just what I needed! Another WAH project! :) WAH! WAH!! :)
Mea culpa! Mea culpa! Apologizing to Manta.com for not spreading the love. In my defense?
Excuse #1: A newbie (or inexperienced entrepreneur) to the world of online business.
Excuse #2: Home business blogs were not up and running - at the time when my websites were listed in their directory back in 2011.
Four years later, on a roll with my homebiz projects and know enough now to let others know that if you are a small business owner, home business entrepreneur, WAHM, whatever! ... Take advantage of the resources and services this company has to offer. Sharing this gem from their blog, my pick as an "Infographic of the Day".
If you are an American small business person and don't get to watch CNBC (or any other business new channel, for that matter), then you should follow the Manta blog. It will keep you informed and current.
Information for those who used to contribute to YAHOO Voices before that network was shut down. What many of us liked about the YCN (YAHOO Contributor Network) was that it accepted “previously published articles”. What was really great was that payment was actually received for articles that had been sitting at another site for well over a year with almost nothing to show for it! (That's my experience. Can't speak for others.)
When YCN closed its doors, never bothered looking for other sites that were similar. Haven't decided whether or not try again, but in case anybody else might be looking, here is a link of interest.

Make your existing posts work for you by republishing them on
other sites.
