As a member of the Medium.com writing community (view my writer's profile). Not only do I enjoy writing content but I also enjoy reading and commenting on the articles of my fellow writers.
Pills for Thoughts published an article titled "In the Shadow of the Guillotine". It is an excellent read and he shares many informational links in his article for further exploration. After reading, I left comments. On Medium, responses to comments appear on your profile but they are not counted in your list of stories. I often re-share my comments with readers who visit my blog. The article includes these statements:
"Along with the decline of democratic institutions, the interplay between religion and politics also continues to significantly shape global socio-political landscapes, even in countries that proclaim to have a clear separation between religion and state."
The GOP is trying HARD to UN-separate religion and politics. Is it because they are devoted believers? NO! It's because they need to create a DISTRACTION to cause DIVISION.
That's how religion is used in the USA. Republicans use religion to get VOTES for themselves or steal votes by making people become UNDECIDED.
BY CONTRAST, Putin uses the church as a HAMMER!! If he can't get the citizenry to submit to his will, he uses "the Lord" to beat them into submission. People who are religious fear God more than they fear man. So he just gets somebody in the church to tell them they need to obey him because his will is God's will.
Yes, I'm pointing a finger at Republicans. I'm not calling the Democrats heathens. They just don't use religion that way. This is an important distinction in today's American political arena.
I can't speak for other faiths, but in the Christian scriptures, the Apostle Peter talks about people who "wrestle with scriptures".. That's what the GOP does. It's a wrestling match because they are trying to get the scripture to FIT their political agenda,
It wearies me to watch Speaker Mike Johnson and the rest of the GOP carrying on like that. Seriously! I get exhausted watching them act up! But hey! This is America.
Bitcoin ETF is a type of ETF that tracks the price of Bitcoin. It
is traded on traditional securities exchanges, such as the New York
Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. When you invest in a Bitcoin ETF, you are not
directly purchasing Bitcoin itself. Instead, you are buying shares in a
fund that holds Bitcoin . (1)
The main difference between a Bitcoin ETF and a traditional ETF is
that a Bitcoin ETF tracks the price of Bitcoin, while a traditional ETF
holds a basket of assets (1). Additionally, investing in a Bitcoin ETF
can provide a level of diversification and liquidity, while also
reducing the risk of investing in a single cryptocurrency (2).
Investing in a Bitcoin ETF can be a great way to gain exposure to the
cryptocurrency market without having to directly own Bitcoin.
The first-ever spot Bitcoin ETFs were approved by the SEC on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 (1).
These ETFs are publicly traded investment funds that enable investors
to gain exposure to Bitcoin without actually owning the
cryptocurrency 2. Unlike cryptocurrencies that are traded on crypto
exchanges, ETFs are traded on traditional securities exchanges, such as
the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq (2).
One of the advantages of investing in a Bitcoin ETF is that it
provides a level of diversification. By investing in an ETF, you are not
putting all your eggs in one basket.
Instead, you are investing in a basket of assets that track the price
of Bitcoin 3. This can help to reduce the risk of investing in a single
cryptocurrency. Additionally, ETFs are generally more liquid than
cryptocurrencies, which can make them easier to buy and sell (3).
However, there are also some downsides to consider before investing in a Bitcoin ETF.
One of the main drawbacks is that ETFs are subject to management
fees, which can eat into your returns. Additionally, the value of an ETF
can be affected by factors such as market volatility, interest rates,
and geopolitical events (3).
It’s important to do your research and understand the risks before investing in any ETF.
In summary, investing in a Bitcoin ETF can be a good way to gain
exposure to the cryptocurrency market without having to directly own
Bitcoin. However, it’s important to weigh the advantages and
disadvantages before making any investment decisions.
If you decide to invest in a Bitcoin ETF, make sure to do your
research and choose an ETF that aligns with your investment goals and
risk tolerance (4).
