Chevrolet is an American automobile manufacturing corporation that has been in business since 1911. I am so old that I can remember the advertisement that said “See the USA in your Chevrolet.” Chevrolet is pronounced sheh·vruh·lay. Lay rhymes with USA. It was a catchy line.
At one time, their major competitor was Ford. But times have changed and not only must Chevrolet compete with US car manufacturers but there are also non-US car manufacturing companies who fight for the attention of American consumers as well. Based on my experience, I would say that even after all of these years Chevrolet still builds great cars! They build small cars, sedans, trucks, mid-size cars, sports cars (like the Corvette), and most recently they started building all-electric vehicles.
My favorite Chevy car is the Suburban. It is a large family SUV (sports utility vehicle) and if you have a large family and you drive to your vacation destinations, this car (or truck) is perfect!
I owned a Suburban for about 10 years. Sadly one of my teenage kids took it out for a drive, got in an accident and the family care was totally checked. However, my child made it out without a scratch.
During the time period when I owned the Suburban, I rarely had to make substantial car repairs. The regular car maintenance kept it going. I drove the car from Texas to Washington, D.C., and back again. It is very reliable transportation.
If you are looking to buy a large family SUV, I recommend the Chevrolet Suburban.
"In 1951, Chevrolet signed a deal to sponsor The Dinah Shore Show on NBC, during the height of her career as one of America’s mos
t popular singers and television personalities. At the end of each show, the charming, sultry-voiced Shore serenaded her audience with “See the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet” from the driver’s seat of a sleek, brand new Chevy." (Source)
