Bob Marley - Rastaman Trivia 2

February 6th was the singer’s birthday. But there was this interesting article at Bubblews about his memorial services with some trivia to be shared. You never know when you may need to know it! Rather than wait for May 11th, the anniversary of Mr. Marley’s death, my reasoning was that since it was still February, it could be considered a sort belated birthday remembrance.

May 11th has come and gone, but it’s still May. When it comes to perfect timing … Eh! What can I say? My timing is off!! Found two more links which are being added to my collection of Marley trivia and tidbits.

#1) Bob Marley - The Life and Death Of a Reggae Legend

A condensed, concise and precise, well-written biography in a nutshell penned by BethanRose, a writer based in South Wales.

#2) How Bob Marley was Assassinated By the CIA

Always suspected the attempt on Mr. Marley’s life had political motive, but must admit that this is the first time reading so much detail about CIA involvement. Written by Marvin (no last name given) using a pen name “rasta1”. It is an undeniable observation that many reggae entertainers have been shot and killed, but the writer states that the life of Bob Marley was “spared due to the mystical intervention of JAH Rastafari”. Can’t say whether this report is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, but can say – by way of my opinion – that the article certainly does have elements that sound convincing enough to be true!

Be My Valentine? Did You Say "My Religion is Love"?

Not your usual Valentine, I know.

But I think it's a perfect valentine.

So who was it that said “My religion is love”? Wasn’t it one of the sons of Bob Marley?

Ooops!  Looked it up.  My bad.  It was the title and song lyrics by Ziggy Marley that said "Love Is My Religion".  Close enough!

It was the late Bob Marley himself who said: "Overcome the devils with a thing called love."

I believe in giving credit where credit is due, but they were both just rewording the wisdom of Jesus.

No matter who you want to give the credit to, you would all be hard-pressed to say that it isn't a golden rule to live by!

SIDE NOTE:

~ Born: February 6, 1945, Nine Mile, Jamaica ~ Died: May 11, 1981, Miami, FL. Had he lived to see this day, the legendary reggae artist, Bob Marley would have been 70+ years old.  He and his music live on through his children.  They make sure of that!
Happy belated birthday, Mr. Marley!

Bob Marley - Rastaman Trivia

Shared this video (below) via Twitter a little over a year ago (March 2013). Bob Marley is a personality that many people like to write about, including yours truly. There are many things about his lifestyle I did not agree with, but there are lots of things about his music that I like, such as the fact that some, if not most of his song lyrics were based on scriptures.
