Recycling My Facebook Memories: On This Day April 15, 2025

CONTEXT: Trump and his bosom buddy in El Salvador agreed to imprison those dangerous illegals, insisting that they were all members of a Venezuelan criminal gang.

Below are my comments on Facebook from a year ago.

The President of EL SALVADOR really made a good first impression on US, didn't he?

EL SALVADOR: A country where the leader brags about being “the coolest dictator” and building BIGGER PRISONS in order to liberate the people. ()

Shouldn't this country be on everyone's vacation travel bucket list?

Are you kidding? That's PREPOSTEROUS!

Is it any wonder that more people are leaving El Salvador than staying or arriving?

But if you count the deportees who get admitted to CECOT, maybe the calculations will change. Just play with the a bit.

EL SALVADOR? That name is ironic. Should be EL DIABLO!!

Just saving my thoughts from that day. Since that time, ICE has done much more than deport “dangerous illegals”. Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller was upset because “the numbers” for deportation were not IMPRESSIVE ENOUGH. So ICE agents were told to go into Home Depot and the strawberry fields. Agents were given guns and masks and allowed to escalate "enforcement" efforts.  The aggressive tactics resulted in the deaths of American citizens who protested ICE violence.

But it's OK now because ...

• Kristi Noem (the lady standing in the photo), who was in charge of ICE deportations and spent $200 million (of our tax dollars) advertising GOT FIRED. She was replaced by Markwayne Mullin, a man who admits he has “anger issues”. Stephen Miller still has his job and is living in guarded military housing. That means he can continue dropping “poison in the president's ears”.
• Pam Bondi, US Attorney General, GOT FIRED because she couldn't bury the Epstein files.

U.S. forces launched Operation Absolute Resolve and captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. Venezuelan Nobel Prize Winner María Corina Machado tried to “bribe” Trump to give her his support by offering him HER prize. The Nobel Committee shut that down and plainly stated the “Nobel Peace Prize cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred once awarded”. Yeah! That's right!

MEANWHILE,

POTUS Trump started a war with Iran, and now there are calls to invoke the 25^th Amendment (i.e., if a U.S. President dies, resigns, is removed, or is temporarily unable to perform their duties, ensuring the Vice President or another official can take over), AND actions have been taken to impeach SOW Pete Hegseth.

Melania Trump called a Press Conference to “distance” herself FROM Jeffrey Epstein and made it clear she was not a victim. But victims should be allowed to testify before Congress. (She was so noble. BARF!)

TODAY'S DATE:  April 15, 2026

Oh yeah! A lot happened in a year. I only wish it were a fictional soap opera show like “The West Wing”. Instead, it's a horrific blended rendition of George Orwell's “Animal Farm” AND “1984”.

Are Protest Marches Effective?

UPDATED:  The content below the asterisks was written in 2017. It's 2025. Who would have thought one president and a crony who joined him would have given US so much to protect about?

Marching is a clearly defined collective act of the people! It's proof that in a free country you can do something to get your voices heard by the elected officials you are allowing to serve you, to do what needs to be done for the good of all the people. 

Or at least... get them to think about it. 

Also, sometimes if you write letters, they might get lost in the mail or never even delivered. It's kind of difficult to ignore a large mass of people all moving together coming at you. :)

Budget and Survival Skills versus In Sickness and In Health

The alternate title for this post is:
“Am I being callous, insensitive, lacking empathy, unsympathetic, cruel and unkind?”


Perusing my eMail Inbox and quickly glanced at a question in one of the messages that made me chuckle. It was about what your knee-jerk reaction is when faced with financial problems.

• When experiencing financial difficulties does your instinct immediately prod you to cut back?

 
Well? I guess so! But more than likely my “cutbacks” happen because there's no money! Not sure my “instinct” was necessary. ((O.o))

On a serious note, the question provoked my memory recall. A while back, was watching a popular talk show once and it was rather disturbing. It's disturbing that people who do things that don't make sense are always “ill”. This woman supposedly had an “illness”. She would buy stuff she didn't really need!

• If you're filthy rich and you have large barns to store all of your worldly possessions, then it doesn't matter. You would be called a “shopaholic”.
• If you bought a load of crap and had the decency to give it away because you realized you weren't really using it, you'd be called “charitable”.

But when loads of crap are piled up in your house to the point that the place is a junk heap and you and your partner can barely see the bed you both lie down to sleep on and you're making your mate physically ill … then you're sick!

A team was sent in to clean the place up and the team actually got sick from breathing in toxic stuff – dust, spores, mites, who knows what! - from piles of clothing, etc. that had been lying around the home for years. Items bought from the store that still had the price tags on them!!!
 
Listening to the interviewer questioning this woman as to why she was buying things she didn't need and her response was … (not an exact quote): “Because the blouses were on sale and there were different colors available, so I bought one in each color.” 
 
The interviewer turns to question the husband and it seems he gave her credit cards for her spending purposes. You know? Grocery shopping, health and beauty needs, wardrobe necessities, things for practical living, and maybe an occasional gift or guilty pleasure luxury product.


Started thinking to myself. Don't know who the sick person is. The wife or the husband? Seems to me the CURE was taking away the credit cards. YOU CAN'T BUY NOTHING IF YOU AIN'T GOT NO MONEY!!!


It really perturbs me, that people do dumb stuff and get to write it off as an “illness”. OR … am I being insensitive to this poor woman who is clearly not poor because she can afford to buy things she has no need for, has no place to put them, and never even blinked at the thought about making a donation to a charity!!


(Just a rant. Thank you for letting me shout it out.)

P.S. After shouting it out, friends in my social network told me that I was being a little bit callous and insensitive and that it was NOT OK.  If so, then I apologize.

Entertainment: Music: Throwback: I Don't Wanna Fight ~ Tina Turner

I admire Tina Turner. She was a strong soul sista. There came a time in her life when she was a “turning point”. She is a role model for women who are in abusive relationships. She shows them what they need to do. Especially if children are involved. I liked this song because I can feel Tina's heart and soul in it when she sings it. Her heart was bleeding and she knew the best way was to just move on. She picked up the pieces and walked off!!

In my opinion, “All the Best – The Hits” and “Simply the Best” are her “best”! 

She is retired now and for your information, she performed her last concert in Austin, Texas, my current hometown.  I did not attend but according to those who did, she was Tina Turner all the way to the end!!  :)

An Opinion Piece : I am in favor of capital punishment. ...

"I am in favor of capital punishment. Your opposing points of view and comments are welcomed. But don’t even think you will change my mind! The only thing you will get me agree to is that the “form” of execution should NOT be crucifixion. ..."

Capital punishment or the death penalty is still a heated topic being debated on a fairly regular basis.

The CONs steadfastly remain CON or AGAINST; while the PROs continue to remain PRO or FOR and posit that the CONs (those who oppose capital punishment) are really only supporting the convicts and they should shower their compassion, sympathy and possibly empathy on the families of victims, and most importantly, keep in the front of their minds that the victim did not deserve having their life taken.

Yes it is true that putting the murderer to death won't bring back the murdered victim. But the Administrators of Justice are not trying to resurrect the dead. That's not their job. Their duties and responsibilities – for which they are paid, some of them quite handsomely " entail maintaining the peace in the community of law-abiding citizens, and upholding the dignity and humanity of the people who are still alive, and should not have to live in fear and dread amongst each other.

I am in favor of capital punishment. Your opposing points of view and comments are welcomed. But don't even think you will change my mind!

The only thing you will get me agree to is that the “form” of execution should NOT be crucifixion. Why? Because according to the Biblical Archaeology Review, which is a well-known and respected publication that supplies facts, data, historical information and results of archaeological findings, about life during Bible times, mainly in the Near and Middle East areas " nobody is certain as to how a crucifixion was accomplished. Based on that, how I see it, the last thing this world needs is executioners who can't do their jobs and botch executions!!

myLot.com - A Milestone and a Second Impression

Last August (2015), published a blog post presenting my first impression of myLot.com, a social network / discussion forum that I joined. So it's been a little over 8 months and as of today, my profile boasts 125 discussions initiated by me.  I think it could be called a significant milestone and you can consider this post my second impression.  :)

Along with that, the site owners have made some major strides in improving a system which in my opinion was already terrific!

• They added three social media share buttons: Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook.

• They made it much easier to add images to your post for pinning and also include a reference link, if you started a discussion but you want to refer your reader to additional information.

• They made it easier to hashtag your Tweets. When you generate a discussion, you can tag it appropriately. It is recommended that you choose up to 5 tags. If you tag your post and then Tweet it for sharing, the tags automatically convert to hashtags. That's a neat feature!

This community is really fun and they really do pay the 15^th of every month ($10 minimum cash-out).
