Science and Politics of Global Warming VS Climate Change

Science and Politics of Global Warming VS Climate Change

Once upon a time, I used to watch the Discovery Channel but no more. No point crying over spilled milk. Today I made a wonderful discovery. Discovery News which is under the corporate umbrella for the Discovery Communications, LLC, has a Tumblr blog, as do I. The difference between the DiscoveryNews blog and mine is that their blog actually adds value to world wide web and learning community; whereas my blog only oozes my personality. One thing leads to another and in visiting the blog it led me to a video which asked an interesting question: “Ever wonder what the difference between “global warming” and “climate change” is?”

My answer is “No.” Why would I wonder? They’re both the same thing. NOT!!

My bad! Trace Dominguez, the guy in the video totally straightened me out. He also clarified how the Republicans use the terms “global warming” and “climate change” which is a thought that had never crossed my mind.

I’m wondering if the guy actually wants me to take him seriously or if he was doing a comedy routine with a straight face. I can’t tell. (O.o) (???)

Here’s the link to the video.

Thoughts and Opinions : Global Warming Versus Global Returning? Science?

Social Sites That Pay : ForumCoin and Postloop

Followed the advice of a friend and signed up at a site called ForumCoin.com. This is a site where newbies and beginners trying to publish blogs can get advice and tips on affiliate marketing and blog monetization, suggestions on sites where they can make money online, etc. Members can even play games, share music, and just chit chat. You can create an income stream by being an active member of this site because for all of your various social activities you can earn money.

At ForumCoin, I found a discussion thread about a site called Postloop. You sign up free, follow the instructions carefully to open the portal and from there you proceed to qualify so that you can gain access to more blogs and forums where you can earn money for publishing posts and/or making comments at posts. You sort of have to pass a “test” first. The Postloop owners are looking for people with fairly good writing skills who can publish posts and/or provide comments that contribute to ongoing discussions in the forums or at the blogs. You don't earn money to get qualified. But once you are approved (or qualified), you will receive an eMail with a link that directs you to other forums and blogs you can sign up for that do pay you for your contributions.

When I received my eMail, I subscribed to two forums. Now I can invite others to join those forums. You don't have to go through Postloop. You can use my referral link (below). However, if you do use my link, then you will only have access to the forum you chose to sign up for. Whereas, if you go through the Postloop qualification process, you can have access not only to the forums I joined but you can view the complete list of forums and blogs and pick one or more. You may not want to join the forums I joined. There may be other topics that interest you. These two forums were of interest to me. One forum I joined to learn more about SEO. The other forum I joined because they have a wide range of general topics for you to provide your comments.  Do you already read blogs you like and leave comments?  This is the same thing only you can earn money for making a comment.

My Sign Up Referral Link for Postloop:

Once you are approved or qualified via Postloop, you can then subscribe to the forums like the ones mentioned in this post and start earning.  As stated earlier, you can publish posts and/or make comments at these forums. Most of the time I comment; especially at the SEOClerks forum since I am not really an expert webmaster. But just to give you an idea, at the end of this blog post is a list of some of my published posts at SuperiorThan that the owners approved.  Some are Versus.  Some are Debates or Discussions.  Just click on the appropriate tabs.

This was a brief introduction to my experience with social sites that pay; legitimate websites where you can make money online.  There are more sites out there (also mentioned at ForumCoin).  But these are the sites where I have found my experience to productive and profitable.  Hope this helps you.  Let me know if you have any questions about anything I've written.

Every time situations disrupt around the globe, we are always glad that someone was keeping their finger on the pulse or someone exists with a sharp mind who can gather facts quickly and bring you up to date on matters that have been brewing for years.

In this instance, NYU student Susannah Griffee has presented for our education her Ukraine 101 quick study. Click link above.  Thank you Ms. Susannah.

We could look at the opposite of war for a different perspective. The common idea is that the world has only had some 26 days of peace since WWII, not sure how accurate that is. But it sounds about right.

We are not a peaceful breed. There is always violent conflict simmering along. The question then becomes what causes the larger flare-ups, the World Wars.

The personalities of a few men will determine if war happens. And given our history and given how “determined” world leaders have to be to get those jobs, then war is always on the cards.
I don’t think this will cause a World War, in the traditional sense I don’t think that’s possible anymore. We have wars that involve a lot of countries. Iraq and Serbia for examples. But we don’t think of them as world wars, maybe we should.

Interesting you should make that point that “maybe we should”. When explaining conflict to my children so that they could get the sense of it I always tell them “Try to think of the country as your next door neighbor. Wouldn’t you much rather be at peace with the person who can easily walk right up to your front door and get in your face?” Of a truth, perhaps viewing it as a “world war” causes the disconnect and insensitivity. Maybe we should think of war or conflict as having a huge unnecessary violent fight with our next door neighbor which results in blood that need not have been shed.
Thanks for visiting and leaving your remarks.

Cmoneyspinner on Over-Blog | My Pain, Your Gain

Using a free account at a site called OverBlog. It’s sort of like Tumblr or Pinterest, in that it’s really easy to share links, photos, etc. and write your own content. My posts date back to April 2015 and the last time there was any activity was June 2016.  Creating a blog was easy and the site does have visual appeal. However, my site does not get much traffic, so I don't spend a lot of time there.

More details at related link:

Sharing a quick list of the most recent posts below and also some embedded content. This blog has its usefulness in that it creates a space on the Internet for a collection of random things that are of interest to me, e.g. news about world affairs which become history reference markers, food and drink, entertainment, etc.

Do you use OverBlog?  Would be interested in knowing your experience.  Feel free to comment and share a link.

Literacy Base Blog Posting Goal Accomplished! (UPDATE Aug 2017)

To quote the wise philosopher, singer/songwriter Nellie Furtado:

  • "Why do all good things come an end?"

The site Literacy Base has bid farewell.  As of Aug 2017, all links that were supplied below in this post are outdated.  Hopefully, I can find a new home to republish.

Eh!  It happens more often than we would like.  Fun communities and sites bite da dust!

The content below was published Oct 27, 2016.

Accomplished my goal of getting twenty (20) blog posts approved and published at Literacy Base.  This is a blogging community where you can earn residual income not just for blogging but for almost all of your activity.  I'm not kidding!  Even if you just log in to your account, you can earn.

Your activity can consist of participating in groups or forums, updating your profile page, commenting on blog posts, etc.  If you share links via social media and a visitor comes to the site because they clicked on your link-share, you can earn for that!  That means even if you don't want to publish blog posts, and just want to interact and make friends, you can still generate some passive income.

The cash out is $10.  It's a good site if you need some extra cash and also because the folks in the community (including Admin and Support) are very nice.  As of today, there are about 1200 members.  Want to sign up? Click here.  It's free to join!

Below is the list of my posts.  Gives you an idea of some of the things you can blog about.  Of course, if you have a specific expertise or passion, that's even better!

Freelance Writing Opportunities : WWW : Wizzley Welcomes Writers

Online writing communities are mushrooming all over the worldwide web. The majority of them are free to sign up, have a revenue-sharing plan, allow you to work at your own pace and you can write on any number of topics. Some are pay-per-view. Some are pay-per-click. Some are based on actual product sales. Usually, the only stringent criteria is a certain number of words required to publish a post. The main thing is they are legitimate work-at-home opportunities.

Wizzley Welcomes Writers
Newbie or Experienced
Join Today!

This blog entry discusses one of those communities, Wizzley.com, which is based in Germany. Since the Internet is worldwide, where a company's headquarters is located is irrelevant. This post is the beginning of a series of posts which will showcase these different sites and my own experience.  Wizzley.com is not the first site that I published for, but it is one of the current websites where my articles are still live for public viewing.

My first article was published May 2013, so next month will be my first anniversary. To date there are 34 “Wizzles” to my credit. The site owners and the writers in the community are supportive. The publishing platform is easy to use and their revenue-sharing plan is reasonable and money can be earned via VigLink, Amazon, AllPosters, Zazzle, Google Adsense or Chitika. Text referral links from other affiliate advertisers like ShareASale or Commission Junction are also allowed. Those are the highlights. To learn more, just visit the site by clicking the banner below.

Americans Love Their Firsts (Republish to Remind and Refocus US)

We Americans love our “firsts”. When Obama was elected, it was said and is still being said and will continue to be said, he is “the first African-American” to hold the highest office in the land!! Toot! Toot!!!

What do you expect from US? We're still a baby country experiencing our “first steps” in many ways. When a baby takes his or her first steps doesn't everybody applaud the monumental achievement and encourage the little one to keep on going forward?? So let US blow our horn!

George Washington was, of course, our 1st POTUS.

Abraham Lincoln was our 1st Republican POTUS.
- Sadly he was also our 1st POTUS to be assassinated.

Andrew Johnson was the 1st POTUS to be impeached, but he was not removed from office (narrowly escaped).

Ulysses S. Grant was the 1st American since George Washington to hold the rank of full general.
- He was also the 1st to publish his “Personal Memoirs”.

Theodore Roosevelt was the 1st to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 1st (and only) POTUS to serve 3 terms.

John F. Kennedy was the 1st Roman Catholic ever elected as President.

Lyndon Johnson was the 1st to nominate an African-American (Thurgood Marshall) for the Supreme Court.

Richard Nixon was the 1st of our country's leaders to be impeached who had to go home!

Ronald Reagan was the 1st POTUS to appoint a woman (Sandra Day O'Connor) to the Supreme Court.
- By God's grace, he was also the first to survive an assassination attempt by John W. Hinckley, Jr.

So there you have just a few remarkable “first moments” in the history of the United States of America.

* (Just an aside trivia note: Ronald Reagan and Bob Marley share the same birth date, February 6th. Marley died in 1981, the same year as the failed attempt on Reagan's life.)

* * More Interesting Trivia: * *
- In 1872, Victoria Woodhull was the first woman to run for President of the United States.
- 100 years late in 1972, Shirley Chisolm was the first black woman to run for President.

JAZZ : World Music, Made in the U.S.A.

I heart trivia and jazz  :)

DID YOU KNOW?  “In 1912, the first use of the word “jazz” was in print in California, but it was not a description of the music.”  So what was it describing and how did it get connected to this musical art form that people all around the world enjoy today?

World Music : Spotlight on Zaho, Algerian R&B Singer

Have always thought Algerian music had a moody, exotic, sensual vibe. Right? So tried to sign up at a site (a while back) to listen to Algerian radio stations. Could get other stations from other countries but for some reason could never get to hear music played on Algerian stations. Gave up trying!

Started watching foreign films with my SO (significant other) many moons ago and also began listening to singers from other countries or rather “world music”. You could say he opened up a new world for me; a fantastic point of view. :) But long before we ever met each other, the sound of people speaking in French has always captivated me. Mattered not what they were saying or singing – they could have been cussing at me - if it was in French it sounded way better than in English. Even people who RAP in French sound better!!

My SO (significant other) let me listen to this female singer called Zaho. Liked her sound. Did a little extra research on her.

Zehira Darabid (born on May 10, 1980), known by her artistic name Zaho, is an Algerian R&B singer. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaho

Algerian? Yeah. Uh huh. That figures. Oh well! At least access to her videos wasn't cut off from the American audience.
