Are You Qualified to Make Good Soup?

Want to read a food quote?

“Only the pure in heart can
make a good soup.”

Guess who said that?
- No it wasn't Jesus Christ.
- No it wasn't Jacques Pepin.

Beethoven! Yeah, the famous classical music composer, Ludwig van Beethoven said that!

So not only was he a genius when it came to composing music, he was also smart when it came to knowing about comfort food.

January is National Soup Month and in other months of the year, we celebrate days for various types of soups and chowders. Why wait until the winter months when you can start enjoying warm comforting soups during any season of the year?  After all, if you live in places like Florida, Texas, or Hawaii, you might never see Jack Frost.

It's 2023! Tumblr is Still Here!

Despite the fact that Tumblr changed owners more than once and loyal users panicked each time. Despite the fact that David Karp, the creator of Tumblr, left the company at the end of 2017. It's 2018, a brand new year and Tumblr is still here and so far still true to its original mission, that is to be "a place to express yourself, discover yourself, and bond over the stuff you love. It's where your interests connect you with your people." Whew! That was some sweating huh?

Tumblr remains an excellent #blogging, #microblogging and #socialmedia platform. It's very flexible and has many features to make blogging and social sharing easy. It's free to create an account. Use it for #socialnetworking #professionalnetoworking #affiliatemarketing #blogging #microblogging #articlewriting #freelancewriting #workathome #homebusiness #business and as a complement to your blogs on Blogspot or other blogging platforms.

My primary Tumblr is “Texas WIB-WAH

Find a wide range of general info: from #Art to Work at Home Tips ( #tipsandtricks #businessadvice #newbies #newbiebloggers ) to #SocietyandCulture (almost everything except porn and scary stuff like zombies. LOL.)

Dream Italian? Think Italian. Be Italian!

Many people have a dream. They want to vacation in Italy or move and live there permanently. Did you know that Italy is a country of choice for some expatriates? It’s not so unbelievable. After all, Italy invented pizza! 🙂 I only know Italy from watching movies and travel shows and reading about it. Here are some interesting and fun facts about this European country.

* Italy is shaped like a boot!

* Italy has the lowest birthrate in all of Europe.

* Naples introduced the world to pizza!

* In Ivrea they celebrate Lent by throwing oranges at each other.

* Every day 3,000 Euro get thrown into the Trevi Fountain.

* Florence Nightingale was named for the city of her birth.

* Rome is known as the “Eternal City” and the “Caput Mundi”.

Food and Drink: Mexican Favorites - Recipes for Peace?

Published an article about a proposed solution to the "problem" of illegal immigration in the United States via HUBPages.com.  For the life of me, can't understand why everybody isn't on board with it!  Isn't the temptation of Mexican cuisine a persuasive enough argument?!  THINK "homemade fresh chorizo".  That's worth coming to an agreement, isn't it?

Cake Bake: Stewart versus Esteves - Throw Down!

American TV personality Martha Stewart is the most famous housekeeper / homemaker in the world. I would describe her as a “Phenomenal Businesswoman par Excellence”. Watched one of her shows one time and she was actually teaching her audience how to clean a dirty greasy frying pan! This woman took the mundane chores of housekeeping and homemaking on a Star Trek journey and boldly went places no woman had ever gone before. To the bank!!!
  • Martha Stewart's net worth at one time was reported at $300 million, per celebritynetworth.com. (Figured that must be an old report. So fished some more.)
  • A 2011 article published by abcnews.go.com, reported that Forbes.com reported her net worth at $638 million. (That's probably understated too, as of 2015.)

Anyway, getting to my real point - If you're not into baking from scratch like Martha Stewart, are you aware of the wonderful things that can be done with a cake mix? Isabelle Esteves shares her tips on how to enhance a basic cake mix.*

* NOTE: Ms. Esteves unpublished her content.  The replacement link is to another food blog.

Ms. Stewart teaches you how to make all sorts of wonderful culinary delights on from scratch on her Martha Bakes TV series. But why do that when the family and friends chowing down on my upside-down cake won't even notice the difference? Stewart versus Esteves? I'm in the Esteves corner.

Content also published at Persona Paper, Feb 2015.

Always Laugh When You Can ... | We Heart It

Started using WHI (We Heart It). Know what you're thinking. There's Pinterest, Scoop.it, StumbleUpon, etc. Why create another set of collections? Why? Because they share really good stuff on WHI that is different from my findings elsewhere on the web and because it's so easy to click that little “heart” button on the images. I have a Tumblr blog and lots of folks on Tumblr use it. That's how I found the site.

This lovely quote by Lord Byron is my 100th “heart”. ♥

Asian Salmon and Other Salmon Recipes

Which is better for you? Salmon or Trout?
Let's discuss!

Or …

Skip the discussion and make an arbitrary decision based on your palate's preferences. No matter because the salmon recipes links supplied via this blog post can probably be modified and trout can be used as a substitute. When experimenting, eating and enjoying food, one must learn to be flexible.  :)
