Movies and TV Series filmed in Ireland, but NOT set in Ireland : The Teeny tiny à Tout Faire (Reblog)

Well I know that I'm supposed to be tooting my own horn but why can't I toot about blogs I like as well? It's just as much fun reading other people's blogs as it is publishing my own. Re-blogging a link from a super cool entertainment blog that caught my eye.

The Teeny tiny à Tout Faire: [Irish Week] Movies and TV Series filmed in Ireland, but NOT set in Ireland

Why do I like this blog? It shares entertainment-related tidbits, fun facts, etc. that are of interest to me. I like the post categories; especially “Who Wore It Best?”

(Loved that contrast photo of Lupita and Beyoncé.  Shared it via my Tumblr.)

I enjoy the “Movie Reviews” category because there are reviews of vintage movies. The publisher uses the word “vintage”. But sometimes we say “movie classics” or “old movies”.

(I love all things vintage, so I'm happy with the blogger using this descriptive term in lieu of “classic” or “old”.   Shared the review of "Father Goose" via Pinterest where I collect "Everything Vintage". )

Additionally, there are recommendations regarding foreign films (i.e. non-American) and I'm always on the hunt for non-American movies or TV series.

Will you be adding this blog to your list of "Blogs I Like"?

I Heart Foreign Movies

When I was a kid in Miami, Florida, the closest thing to foreign films were the Spanish channels, which I couldn’t really watch because I didn’t understand the language.  But now there’s YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Instant Video, etc.  Unlimited films to choose from.  So many that it is often hard to choose.

Know of any foreign movies (i.e. non-American) available with English subtitles to watch? They could be Asian, European, African, Middle Eastern. No matter. If you think it’s worthwhile view, please make a suggestion.

Happy Tree Tuesday!

It's Tree Tuesday. YAY!! Something they do on Google Plus. Don't know if you have a profile or page on G+, however, if you do, let me know. Maybe we can hook up. Let's not get off track. Trees are the reason earth is the best and ONLY planet for humans to inhabit. You can follow the space explorers on their trek adventures to try to see if Mars and Venus (or wherever) can be colonized. That's your decision. But my efforts will be lent to any campaign that supports saving the trees!

My contributions to Tree Tuesday (click here) are not consistent or regular, but they have been substantial enough so that whoever it was that invented this G+ posting practice or tradition can know that this initiative has my backing two thousand percent!! Let the global public recognize that i heart trees

The Stuff Dreams Are Made of ...

Do you have a dream that you dream often?

♥♦♥♦♥♦♥

When I was a child, I always ended up in a car with other family members, dangling off the edge of something like a highway where the construction wasn’t finished and we didn’t see the sign saying “Under Construction” until it was too late. Nobody would dare move because if we did, we’d plummet to our deaths. But I don’t have that dream anymore.

These days my dreams are all kinds of random stuff as if my mind is unloading garbage. I got no complaints though. I’m happy to get rid of the trash and unnecessary crap, and purify my mind! :)

My late mother used to have a dream interpretation book.  I wish I would have saved it.  It was full of malarkey but she believed it.  I could prove to her that it wasn’t nothing but junk, but she wouldn’t believe me!  Then I learned about Sigmund Freud and his weird ideas about dreams.  I don’t believe none of that either!  My husband is the only person who ever gave me a direct plain reasonable explanation of dreams.  ‘Eh!, he said, 'It’s just your subconscious mind clearing out stuff you didn’t sort out during the day.’

Still … it’s interesting to note that there are common dreams that many people many people have - no matter what their background, ethnicity, beliefs, culture, etc.  Click here to find out what the 10 Most Common Dreams are.  Would you believe that my husband’s recurring dream is not included in the list of 10.  In his dreams, he can fly!

How to Stop Sleep Paralysis and Turn It Into Lucid...(Reblog)

Have always been fascinated with dreaming. The dream world. The dream state. Whatever you want to call it. To me, pure hell on earth would be a life where you could not dream!

Found a Tumblr blogger who seems to share my fascination with this subject. She has several posts on the topic. Sharing this one because … not only do I love dreaming but I can't pass on Mickey and Minnie. It's almost Valentine's Day and this animated couple is a quintessential picture of eternal love.

Sharing the other two links below because it adds to the discussion of the human mind. Since I can't afford to join the team that's going to Mars in the hopes of establishing a space colony, might as well engage in some other profitable effort. The brain and how it functions is a full-time exploration project. Wouldn't you agree?

One World - Multiple Space Colonies

There's a trend in the world of science and space exploration towards colonizing other planets. We all know the motivation behind this. Uh huh.

Mankind is screwing up planet earth; so people are looking and hoping to build a new community in another part of the universe.

To quote Homer Simpson: “Doh!”

As if … we humans won't do the exact same thing if we set up shop elsewhere!

Oh, it will start off all good, just like planet earth did. But there will be one thing wrong with the new world on Mars, Venus, Jupiter, wherever.

There will still be humans living there.

Humans with the same mindset in the new space colony that they had when they lived on planet earth.

Give it some time. Before you know it, someone will pop the question.

Uuummm … how come we don't have a red button?

How to Make Money from Virily and 6 More Revenue Sharing Sites (Reblog)

Janice Wald is an award-winning blogger and her areas of expertise are blogging and social media. I follow her blog and I follow her on social media. She is very active on social media and all around the web, and when I see her name, I have to peek! She's simply irresistible. ☺

Her blog, mostlyblogging.com, is loaded with guidance, advice, tips, and tricks, etc.  Everything you need for successful blogging. While perusing the Quora Q&A website, I came across her response to a question - "Do You Blog Outside Quora?" - and that led me to the blog post below. (Treasure hunting is always good when you actually find treasure!)

I was very interested in reading her review of Virily.com, as I joined this blogging community in June 2017.  It's 2018.  I'm still there.  But I was just wondering if she knew something about the site that I didn't know!  So many sites like Virily have come and gone in the blink of an eye!

Happy to say that her blog post was very encouraging.  Sharing the link to her post and for what it's worth, my additional "two cents" (below the post link).  I think this site is a wonderful social blogging community and I would recommend it to anyone, but especially to newbie bloggers.  If you're thinking of becoming a blogger and you need to start somewhere to gain experience, start with VirilySign up is FREE!

My “Two Cents” About Virily (and the other writing sites):

I am currently a very satisfied blogger in the Virily community. Member since June 2017. I was very hesitant to join. Got talked into joining so many communities just like Virily, only to be disappointed. But Virily has been a pleasant surprise.

But now I'm like: “Uummm? Should I stay or should I go?” (O.o) LOL. I've been psychologically conditioned by the other sites to expect the site to disappear! But you know what? Right now. It's kind of fun! And it is proving to be profitable.

I think sites built using the revenue-sharing business model, i.e. that primarily rely on ad revenues to stay afloat, can survive. Two things are needed. Honest staff and loyal members. Both are absolutely necessary. Sad to say but my experience with other sites has been that the staff or management was not straight up! The members certainly didn't want the site to shut down!  That was evident!

By contrast, I have found the Virily site owners, staff and management, to be very involved with the daily administration of the site; they respond to their messages promptly; they keep members apprised of significant changes, and they're based in Estonia. ☺  I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but if the folks from Estonia are as nice as these people, that country is now on my Travel and Vaction bucket list. ☺

Regards the other sites mentioned, in addition to Virly?

  • Hubpages was recently acquired and is under new management. My HUBs are articles that are evergreen content and though the earning is slow, I do get paid
  • Tried InfoBarrel and Snipsly. Had no success. Do not make your decision based on my experience.
  • Started with Daily Two Cents when they started and have experienced the changes with this platform. I would recommend joining, although some of my friends did not like it. To each his own.  My experience has been good.
  • Seekyt was great but when the site changed owners, I deleted my content and left. Wish them success though.  The site looks lovely.

Virily's publishing module is not just for blogging.  You can create quizzes, polls, lists; shared embedded content and videos, as well as write.  It is a very lively social community.  It's like Facebook, only you can earn extra income for most of your social activity.  Just check their FAQ for details.  Below are links to some of my posts, supplied as examples to give you an idea of content that is considered acceptable.
