Typical day, minding my own business, not focusing on anything in particular when out of the blue this person says: "It must be tough."
OK. I'll bite. Please dear person thinking random thoughts. Share that one and tell me where did it come from?
Just thinking. ...
"It must be tough ... waking up every day just to kill somebody. I mean like ... it's your job. It's what you do. ... Must be tough to have a mindset like that. Go to sleep knowing you massacred some unarmed people - men, women and children. Wake up the next day and do it again. That's gotta be tough to live your life like that!"
(This thought is not dispensable. Definitely a keeper.)

Tumblr and Google Plus, Ink!
Tumblr is a blogging platform and social sharing site that is very easy
to use.
Google Plus is a social network that is taking some getting used to but once you get the knack it can be lots of fun.
Tumblr knows that Google Plus communities have great potential so there is a Tumblr G+ community. This is an indirect route that is being taken to introduce others to an artist based in the Ukraine named Igor Amazonenco. He does ink portraits and his artwork is amazing!

Do You Like Selfies? Then You'll Like Facefeed.
Are you into selfies? I'm not. I'm into rainbows. Apparently there's a great new app called Facefeed. You don't have to connect it to your email or social feeds like Facebook, which means you can put your face out there and share all your "cheese grins" without the whole wide world getting all up in your face. Awesome if you have a nice face. The way I look these days, my mug shot will not be distributed! I don't deceive myself. I'm Treathyl Fox. Not Megan Fox. :)

CELEBRATING AUSTRALIA DAY!
"Australia Day is on January 26 and commemorates the establishment of the
first European settlement at Port Jackson, now part of Sydney, in
1788.
On January 26, 1788, the First Fleet of 11 ships from Great Britain arrived at Port Jackson, which now forms Sydney Harbour. The First Fleet was led by Captain Arthur Philip. He established the Colony of New South Wales, the first penal colony in Australia. By 1808, January 26 was being celebrated as “First Landing Day” or “Foundation Day” with drinking and merriment."
So what if you may never ever travel to the Australian Outback or Queensland or Sydney! Think of the fun you’ll have being able to talk just like Crocodile Dundee (see below)!!

Oh? UM ... is "YAY" an Aussie term?
I’m not Australian. In fact, I probably could not tell an Aussie accent from a Cockney accent. But if you’d like to learn to speak “everyday Australian” here’s A Guide to Aussie Slang by fellow freelance writer, Talia J. Could Treasure Pen Be the New Facebook?
Have been freelance writing since 2011, and participating in online
writing communities – slash – social networks similar to
TreasurePen.com, but NOT!
Recently I published a short blurb at another writing site – DailyTwoCents.com about this site and titled it “Looking For the New Facebook”.
Here is the link, if interested:
Looking For the New Facebook?
It poses the question which was mentioned by an independent reviewer or blogger about the future of Treasure Pen.
The answer is: "Yes." "It could."
But dogged diligence and determination would be required. They would have to burn the candle at both ends, so to speak. Don’t know if they fully realize this, but the management and staff at the T-Pen community are literally sitting on top of a gold mine! (O.o)
Wishing them success!!

Using Loose Ends to Tie Up a True Story
The Europeans, the folks from England in particular, are such gifted
musicians. I am so glad the USA was invaded by all of these artists.
When much younger, there was hardly any place that I would go without my
transistor radio. If it was my turn to do the dishes, I would make
this household chore last and last and last, while listening to the
latest tunes. There were also lots of music shows on TV – American
Bandstand and Soul Train – but they were only broadcast at certain
times, Saturdays. Can you imagine what a tough childhood I had? Having
to wait an entire week to hear good music!!
But then cable TV came along with the music channels and my husband learned how to work a VCR. Later on YouTube was invented. Did you know that YouTube was created to handle my “mood swings”? OK. That’s a stretch. No doubt the inventors had other things on their mind. But we all know that music is so very necessary to the human psyche. Isn’t it awesome that the people from my generation who remember the music, kept their vinyl records and figured out how to upload those great songs and share them on the Internet via YouTube or Vimeo or wherever? I figure whoever is uploading the music has to be somebody about my age because most kids probably wouldn’t know who “The Impressions” are, let alone what kind of music they made, and even if they did, they probably wouldn’t want to upload that stuff!
So I’m sharing two links in this post.
The first video – “Slow Down” – I shared over a year ago in my Google Plus post stream. I only remembered it today because as I was checking my Notifications, I saw that someone had given it a Plus One. This group of 3, called “Loose Ends” – 2 guys and a doll – are out of England. I’m not sure what they are up to these days, but their sound – though it came out in the 80s – is still fresh. There’s a article about them on Wikipedia, if you’re interested.
( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loose_Ends_(band) )
The second one is “Keep on Pushing”; an oldie but a goodie. Here’s my story behind this song. I usually DO NOT keep up with the political conventions. If my TV is turned on while the convention is being televised, I may hear some sounds but won’t pay close attention. So years back, the Democratic convention was on television, and all I could hear was a cheering crowd and music in the background. A speaker was being introduced. I don’t know who. Some tall slender black guy. Evidently he was senator. They say his name by way of introduction and this song is playing as background music. The Senator turned out to be Barack Obama. I don’t know what his speech was about because I had only stopped to hear the music! Besides, he was representing from Chi-town (Chicago) and why listen to what he has to say? It’s not like he’s ever gonna be President! True story.
Clearly, I have no psychic capabilities and can not predict the future.

Happy Caturday!!
Stay safe and enjoy the holiday season!
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! And indeed, what would the holidays be without snow? It’s what gives Frosty his bulk and what makes Christmases white, putting the “wonder” in winter wonderland. But for all its bright sparkly beauty, snow has a dark side, too. Like when there’s too much of it! And you’re in the thick of it. And you can’t get out! Would you know what to do if you were stranded in the snow? |

Appraisal as a Sincere Form of Flattery
You've worked hard. Really hard. NO. Really really really hard!
You know what it's worth to you? But how much is it worth to someone else?
Would you like to know the monetary value of your website or blog?

What's that? Did I appraise my sites?
NO. But another fellow entrepreneur appraised his and I was impressed. It gave me hope! Got me making plans!!
So I'm passing along this business tip. If you're a home business entrepreneur like me, perhaps an honest assessment of the value of your work will encourage you to continue to press forward and pursue your financial goals. One of these days you might hear that lovely sound. KA-CHING!!!

Starting TODAY after this post, My Blog Stop! will automatically share published posts to the Google+ page for My Shopping Channel for the remainder of the year 2014 (November and December).

Native American History: The Early Rainbow Coalition
Born and raised in Florida and the Seminoles were the first real American Indians that I had ever seen in my life. Happy to recycle this information a friend on a now-defunct social network shared with me as part of the November celebration for Native American Heritage Month.
“On Christmas day 1837, 176 years ago, the Africans and Native Americans who formed Florida’s Seminole Nation defeated a vastly superior U.S. invading army bent on cracking this early rainbow coalition and returning the Africans to slavery. …”

An abandoned British fort from the war of 1812 was once occupied by a group of escaped slaves who found refuge and acceptance among the local tribes. The fort and the Spanish control of Florida offered some defense but the U.S. government sent an expeditionary military raid to terminate the outlaw colony. In the summer of 1816, the fort on the Apalachicola River was destroyed and nearly all its inhabitants.
