Work From Home Advice: Finding the Path to Successful Affiliate Marketing

My path to affiliate marketing began several years back when I saw a write-up about an online entrepreneur who insisted he earned thousands of dollars in affiliate referral commissions. He also said it was really easy to do!

Another respected blogger I stumbled upon because I was looking for advice on how to make money from my websites, said that he was able to generate consistent income of about $5K per month via affiliate referrals.

There are many more success stories out there. Some can be found right here at Forum Coin.

Unfortunately, my success story has not made the headlines yet. But that’s not to say one day it won’t ever happen. Income from my affiliate advertising efforts has been earned sporadically and my goal of achieving consistent regular income has not yet been achieved. However, the fact that I was able to earn commissions is an indication (at least to me) that earning consistent income from affiliate marketing is a possibility. So I keep on keeping on.

Though it's been said before it bears repeating because newbies are constantly coming on board and trying to make money in the online world.

QUESTION: How does one pursue the path to successful affiliate marketing?

ANSWER: First figure out what the best products are FOR YOU to promote and what the best affiliate marketing programs are FOR YOU to join. It's not a "one size, fits all" formula. Then, of course, you need to figure out how to promote and where to advertise. There are several ways, however, building niche websites and social media marketing are proving to be the most effective ways for my “entrepreneurial adventures”. If you find something else that works FOR YOU, that's OK!

These articles are of interest to me and may be helpful for you too!

Affiliate Marketing 101: How To Find The Best Products To Promote (blogpress.com)

The takeaway tips from this article is that digital products are more profitable to promote and Clickbank is the best way to get started. You may beg to differ. But the advice was offered freely.

The Best Affiliate Programs and 24 Ways To Promote Them (smartbusinesstrends.com)

There are several programs listed in the section titled “Best Affiliate Marketing Programs” that will require further exploration on my part. Confess to not having any familiarity with any of these programs or the promotion techniques and methods suggested. Would not recommend for newbie marketers. (Just my opinion.)

Where To Advertise Affiliate Links (charliepage.com)

Three tips outlined that could be attempted even if you’re a beginner or newbie: (1) social media advertising; mainly via Facebook; (2) solo ads which the article writer describes as “100% affiliate friendly”; and (3) BuySellsAds.com which is especially good to use if your website gets traffic. (My opinion.)

How to Promote Affiliate Products On Your Blog (shoutmeloud.com)

ShoutMeLoud.com publishes a free newsletter. Become a subscriber and you will have no regrets. Their advice is invaluable. At the end of this post there is a “Bonus Tip” and a quick list of marketing tips for 2016 and beyond!

How to Promote Affiliate Products without a Website and Make Money (trustiko.com)

Saved the best for last. This is the post that interested me the most because most say you need a website or a blog. But this site mentions the Yahoo Gemini ad system and incorporates links to two more informative articles – one to top rated affiliate programs and another with tips on how to make money using Pinterest.

None of these articles mentioned the actual words “dogged persistence”.

But when you read them you know it’s implied.

Leadership By Virtue: The Economy and a ‘cultural noise in the background ... (Reblog)

The word "economy" can be traced back to the Greek word "oikonomos" meaning ‘one who manages a household.’ ... : Leadership By Virtue: The Economy and a ‘cultural noise in the background

Jaro Berce's blog, Leadership By Virtue, is a blog about his book by that name.  Just recently started following it and picked up on this because it was listed as one of the “Popular Posts”. Indeed discussing the economy is always “popular”. ☺  Those so-called “discussions” can be downright ruthless sometimes. We're talking serious kung fu fighting! Yet and still, in my opinion, gaining even an introductory or elementary knowledge and understanding of economics has its value.

It's also interesting to note how West meets East, i.e. how westerners make application of eastern philosophy and principles.

Alexandria's Alternate Endings to Portions of England's History

Are you a history buff or maybe just a person who thinks it would be cool to rewrite history with your own alternate ending?  Perhaps you could fix things up so that the Titanic and the sister ship that came after, Britannic, would not both sink!! (Yes. I know it's American history. Trying to make a point here! Just stay with me on this. :) )

Meet Alexandria Ingham.

Alexandria Ingham

Passionate educated historian with a degree in Computer Science and a self-described "writerolic".

She contributes articles to various sites and is publishing a series under a general umbrella title "Alternate History" via Wizzley.com. She is re-writing parts of the history of England, if you're interested. Below are links to two examples of her interesting "What If" scenarios. Curiously enough, the thoughts had actually crossed my mind.

Alternate History: What If Mary I Had a Child?

by AlexandriaIngham There are so many what ifs in history, and I'm continuing my alternate history series after a long break. I'm focusing on Mary I today, with a look at how history could have changed if one of those phantom pregnancies turned out to be real.

Entertainment: Celebrities: In Memory of: Doris Day (1922 - 2019)

Must say good-bye to "America's girl next door" and Hollywood legend, Doris Day.  She had a major influence on my childhood development.  She charmed me.  That was her appeal.  I think she charmed everyone; publicly and privately.  I loved all of her movies.  No really.  There is not one movie she starred in that I did not like.

For me, the most memorable movie was the one where she sang "Que sera, sera" and she had to land that airplane: The Man Who Knew Too Much.  It was a departure from her usually light-hearted comedy roles.  That movie was very serious and she played her part quite convincingly.  I have wonderful memories of this fine actress.

She wasn't included in My Top 10 List of Iconic Female Celebrities' even though she suits the definition for "iconic". It's because she deserves a spotlight all her own.

Bible Readers: What About All Those "ites"?

Now that you know how to read you can read the Bible for yourself. That's what my momma said.

Most Bible readers (from my generation and the generations in the centuries before mine) will likely say what struck them when the first read the scriptures was all those "begats". Some people will skip over verses, even whole chapters if they see that word. The word "begat" usually connects a string of names that are very difficult to pronounce.

For me, one of things noted when turning the pages of the Old Testament starting with Genesis and working my way to the Revelation was all those "ites". The names for the inhabitants of different ancient nations.

Hittites, Asherites, Jebusites, Amorites, Amakelites, Girgashites, Moabites, Perizzites, Canaanites, and of course, Israelites.

Then it changed from "ites" to "ans".

Syrians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Romans.

Suffixes in the English language:

ite = follower or supporter

an = pertaining to
* ian = belonging to

Belonging to? Hmmm?  Like Christians?

Yes. Only Christ is not a nation. Christianity and the gospel message of peace and goodwill is not restricted by man-made boundaries. But it's an observation as to how the suffixes were used by the scholarly translators.

JAT. (Just a thought.) :)

If my view were a "theory", the histomap would have thoroughly disproved it.  Alas.  It's not a theory.  It's just a thought.  :)

Hindi or Indian Entertainment ~ Yuvvraaj (2008) ~ Hurray for Bollywood Music!!

There was once a wonderful community on Google Plus called “Bollywood (Hindi/Indian) Music”.  Members are asked to share Hindi/Indian music they like or love.  G+ shut down April 2019, but the community was deleted even before that.  Nevertheless ...

Hurray for Bollywood Music!!

Two videos were submitted by me to the now-defunct community.  The music was actually American songs that had been performed by famous Bollywood stars.

Shahrukh Khan performed a timeless classic “Stand By Me”; and

Priyanka Chopra performed, "In My City", a collaborative crossover effort with hip hop all-star Will I. Am.

The truth is, at the time, there were so many songs and so much music from Indian films that I've enjoyed it was difficult to choose.  But I finally settled on one.

The video below is a clip from a movie - Yuvvraaj.

The stars are Salman Kahn, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor. All of the music for this film is incredible! But this performance by Anil Kapoor is unbelievable!!

My Favorite Movies Starring Elizabeth Taylor (1932 – 2011)

Remembering one of the Hollywood stars from back in my day who is no longer with us. Elizabeth Taylor (1932 - 2011).

There are three motion pictures starring this iconic legendary beauty that made an impression on me as a little girl and as a teenager:

National Velvet (1944) ; Giant (1956) ; Cleopatra (1963)

Do you have a favorite Liz Taylor film?

U.S. History Timeline: American Presidents: After Lincoln / Before Coolidge

Assassination, Amnesty, Emancipation.

The Republican party was formed in 1854 by antislavery groups. Abraham Lincoln campaigned on an antislavery platform and won the election. He was the first Republican president and the first POTUS to be assassinated. In 1863, even though the war had not ended, the Emancipation Proclamation was formally issued. When the Civil War was over, amnesty was offered to the opposition.

Avengers Endgame (Plus a Throwback: Justice League: The Complete Series)

There is a lot of talk in the entertainment media about Avengers Endgame.  The ticket sales for this movie in the movie industry are like Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album purchases for the music industry.  OFF THE CHARTS!!!  People just couldn't get in and out of the theaters fast enough.  Some people even participated in a marathon and watched all the movies that were released which led up to "Avengers Endgame".  59 hours worth of movie watching!  Can you stand it??

Why do we love superheroes?

For some of us, the childhood memories of superheroes run deep. They don’t just represent beings with superhuman powers. They are symbolic of much larger matters like “truth, justice, and the American Way”. That’s how they are remembered and now they have evolved or expanded, and have a global and even universal united role to play in saving ALL mankind (you have to give the mean and nasty humans an opportunity to repent)  and … uuhhh … nice aliens worth saving!  :)

For the superhero fanatic in all of us!

My Medium Progress Report ~ As of March 2019

A couple of years ago, I shared a post at this blog about my experience with Medium.com. (“My Medium Round Up ~ Article Contributions”) The main attraction of this site was the fact that it accepts republished content. It's now 2019 and nothing has changed in this regard. The site still accepts republished content. The change is that the site has implemented a Partner Program. The goal of this program is to allow the writers to earn some revenue for their contributions to Medium.

With the exception of one article that was republished after the implementation of the program, all of my articles are not available for the paywall. The article that I republished was dated March 9, 2019, “The Origin of Brutal Regimes” and is “eligible to be part of the metered paywall”. I opted in to allow that. An article contributor can opt out. Even though I opted in, I realized after reading the additional details that can only earn money if I am in the Medium Partner Program

Guess what? I JOINED!!
Hope the MPP proves to be a consistent income stream.

Entertainment : 4 Movie Picks for Friday Night

Movies! Movies! Movies!! Love watching movies. Not enough time in the day, so there are some films that have not been viewed yet and as such are on My Watch List. They got on the list because of the fab reviews that were written by fellow bloggers. Very convincing!! Better than watching a trailer!  Decided they would be awesome for a Friday night at the movies!  :)  (Or Saturday night.  Or Sunday night.  Or any time you're in the mood to watch a good movie!)

- The Judge
Stars Robert Downey, Jr. and Robert Duvall. Will watch because I'm happy to watch any movie with Robert Duvall. Loved this man ever since “To Kill a Mockingbird” and he was only in a supporting role. Great review found at “Review This”.   Watch Trailer.

- The Equalizer
I'm a fan of Antoine Fuqua movies anyway. Plus really liked the old TV show by the same name. Justin Morales posted a great review!  Watch Trailer.

 - DELIVER US FROM EVIL
Recommended by a random Mexican named Daniel Hernandez. (The name of the blog is “Random Mexican's Movie Review Extravaganza”.)  Watch Trailer.

 - Big Bad Wolves
Non-American film. A Mystery / Thriller / Horror all rolled into one. Suggested by John Mountain who specializes in writing reviews of horror movies. The picture of Frankenstein for the bubble? Let me explain. Not really into scary flicks. Will watch the old horror movies like the kind with Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney Jr.** But John's review aroused my curiosity.   Watch Trailer.

Women in Business : Continued Support for Women-Owned Businesses ~ 2019 Forward

Back in August 2014, I shared information links that should have proved useful to women in business, particularly women-owned businesses. It's 2019 and I have been celebrating and honoring women all month long since March is Women's History Month. I wanted to reshare the link to my 2014 blog post and supply some updates. A lot can happen in 5 years.

My Aug 2014 Post:

UPDATES:

Press Release Dated April 20, 2018 | News | U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington ~ Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA), urged continued support of the SBA/WBC (Small Business Administration’s Women’s Business Centers).  The action had to be taken because current POTUS wanted to cut funding for a program that is proving to be successful.

The President's FY2020 Budget was released during March 2019 and it appears there will be continued investment in the WBC. ~  The President’s Budget « CAMEO

Thank the Lord for women in politics who support women in business.
